Magna Carda w/ The Bishops and DJ Dougie Do at Stubb's
Stubb’s Indoors - 8 PM
While some might say the hip hop scene isn't among the more prevalent genres in Austin, acts like Magna Carda prove over and over again that quality is better than quantity.
Magna Carda describes itself as "genre-defying blend of rap-meets-jazz-meets-R&B-meets-electronic", a rare but wonderfully superb blend. They will be at Stubb’s this Friday with The Bishops and DJ Dougie Do. Listen to their newest single “Angel” below.

You might not know this, but electronic powerstorm Missio is actually from Austin, TX. This electrifying duo (see what I did there?) released their first single in 2017 “Middle Fingers” which quickly rose to #1 on Alt Nation. Now on their second album The Darker the Weather / The Better the Man, Missio have proved they’re here to stay with 3 #1 singles, Spotify viral charts, audience choice awards, and various placements in tv. Missio is coming home from tour to play Emo’s with Swells and Blackillac (also homegrown!) Make sure you get your tickets today as this show is sure to sell out!
Pull String Events Presents: The Cover Letter, Bleached Roses, Killer V. King
Whip In - 7 PM
There are fun bands and there are great bands, but sometimes you get lucky and find one that is both. This Americana rock outfit is just that with a talent and synergy that comes from a relationship that goes beyond that of bandmates, but one of family.
The Cover Letter will be at Whip in accompanied by Bleached Roses, and Killer V. King. If you're looking for something chill away from the downtown crazy, this is it.

MFML Carnival: Scholarship Fundraiser
Batch - Craft Beers and Kolaches w/ Mother Falcon from 2 PM
The Mother Falcon Music Lab is a summer music program for players of symphonic instruments as well as standard rock band instruments, established by Austin band Mother Falcon to enable curious musicians aged 11- 18 to play music off the page.
This Saturday they will be putting on their yearly fundraiser to raise money for student scholarships at Bach - Craft Beers & Kolaches. The goal of this fundraiser is to be able to host up to 50% of their students on partial to full need-based scholarships. Come on by, enjoy some great music by Mother Falcon, Monte (of Hikes), and music by the students themselves!
In the meantime, I’ll leave you with my favorite Mother Falcon song which showcases their genius artistry which shows just why we need them teaching our future generation of Austin musicians:
