MFML Carnival: Scholarship Fundraiser Batch - Craft Beers and Kolaches w/ Mother Falcon from 2 PM The Mother Falcon Music Lab is a summer music program for players of symphonic instruments as well as standard rock band instruments, established by Austin band Mother Falcon to enable curious musicians aged 11- 18 to play music off the page. This Saturday they will be putting on their yearly fundraiser to raise money for student scholarships at Bach - Craft Beers & Kolaches. The goal of this fundraiser is to be able to host up to 50% of their students on partial to full need-based scholarships. Come on by, enjoy some great music by Mother Falcon, Monte (of Hikes), and music by the students themselves! In the meantime, I’ll leave you with my favorite Mother Falcon song which showcases their genius artistry which shows just why we need them teaching our future generation of Austin musicians: Laurie Gallardo's Vampire Sunscreen Benefit Event Hard Luck Lounge - 8 PM Your favorite radio show host, Laurie Gallardo, is starting her own podcast (SPF 1000) VAMPIRE SUNSCREEN. Queen of KUTX, Laurie spins early afternoons (thank you for getting me through traffic!) and produces KUTX’s Austin Music Minute which showcases upcoming shows featuring local talent. Like she’s shown up for our Austin music community time and time again, now it’s our turn to give back! And don’t forget to wear black! Are you unable to attend, but still want to contribute? Please consider signing up for Laurie’s Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/vampsunscreen.
