Hex Boyfriend is a female-fronted rock band from Austin, Texas. Why mention female-fronted right upfront? Because it's the heart of their music. (Also, I love seeing strong women in music, but that’s another story!) Hex Boyfriend grabbed my attention from the forefront with their hauntingly beautiful harmonies and how well Audrey's voice blends with Ali's lead vocals. Their music showcases a level of angst and longing with the moving guitar lines and push and pull of their melodies. I feel a certain nostalgia when listening to Hex Boyfriend that reminds me of being a teenager and blasting music in my room. How can you not love that?
Hex Boyfriend will be closing out our OutYouth Benefit show on November 11th at Cheer Up Charlies. Join us and get ready for some really beautiful music! Listen below!

Space Heat may be new to the game, having just played their first show February of this year, but you wouldn't be able to tell by listening to them. The band is a synth driven dreamy indie rock band with intricate guitar riffs and pulsing drums that make you want to get up and dance. They skillfully weave synth, guitar, and vocal melodies to create a strong counterpoint. But don’t let this description fool you, the band can rock. Their song “Bleached” is a perfect example of this. What starts off as a fun catchy dance track builds throughout and develops into an instrumental jam session showcasing powerful guitar sounds and that heavy synth that we love.
Space Heat will be kicking things off November 11th at our FullNote Presents: An OutYouth Benefit Vol 2 on the outside stage of Cheer Up Charlie’s at 5:15 PM. Join us and get ready to dance! In the meantime, listen to Space Heat's EP below.
